PEG pain

All

My Sue has had a PEG for near 5 years and it has been a life saver I am sure as I've maintained good food intake and therefore better health.

She does get infections around the site and antibiotics and a saline wash cure this.

However recently after an infection she started to complain about pain to her left side of the stomach. No redness or heat is showing and it's ongoing.

Any ideas?

Paul

I'd speak to the parkinson team or the peg feed nurses. Maybe the pump is running to quickly??

While waiting for a detailed exam/consult from GP or whoever you could just try a different antibiotic if in stock. my other thought is to see if it is related to stomach acid by trying one of the proprietory OTC products like Gaviscon provided not conraindicated by any other drugs.
