Hi, I am surprised none of you asked why.
MSA is a condition that has a diagnosis by elimination of everything else
The MRI scan for the specialist, will be looking for alternative conditions I suspect.
If you want to know why, ring him up and ask.

I have had an MR I and it gives a picture of your whole brain thus enabling the specialist to diagnose what is wrong or to rule out something he has been thinking of. You must ask him next time what he is thinking.
Your two replies are spot on, I also suffer from MSA and yes the only way of being confident about their diagnoses is to rule out everything else. They wanted to test me for aids and sexual transmitted deseases till I introduced my wife of almost fourteen years and after I calmed down at the surgestion that I have not been well just say I wasn't happy. But it was explained that some could cause effects like mine at that time. It was the consultant s understudy and his manner was out rageous. However you need to politely ask questions they will give you an answer if you don't they think you know it and are comfortable with everything. Glenn
Yes your right I was diagnosed that day and we were a bit shocked and it was a different Dr from the one I had seen before and I didn't like her and couldn't understand a word she said next time I will be armed with a long list. I will ring for my results in two weeks thanks
I also wanted to say after my MRI which as said rules out different things I was discovered to have mild rumertium in spine and legs just to add insult to injury. I really hope you are diagnosed with another illness not MSA. Good luck and carry on living life to the full glenn
