what is the reason for not using saunas or spa treatments if you have prv please
Hello liarose, I have never heard of that and I must admit now, that I do use both saunas and spas.
Might it be because it increases your blood pressure and it dehydrates you?
Other than that, I don't know....
Hi liarose. I have pv with a good dose of pruritus. I have a bit of a Scandinavian back ground and have avoided saunas for some 3 years now simply because I am afraid of bringing on an itch attach. Maybe my reasoning is ill-founded,, I dont know. Has anyone with pruritus been a regular sauna user????
I do think the advice is given merely to limit attacks of pruritis in people who suffer badly with this. I find a shower aggravates my pruritis and also find that taking a bath with a little oil helps it a lot. However I just have to put up with a shower and the ensuing itch as I am in a rented apartment where there is a shower only.
Hi Liarose, as Swede has said, saunas can cause dehydration, it is very important when you have a MPD to keep well hydrated.
