I have a condition known as histamine intolerance as well as polycythemia, and because of histamine intolerance NOT PV , I have just had an email from my gp advising me not to have the AstraZeneca vaccine.

This vaccine contains an ingredient called l histidine which is a precursor to histamine. If you are histamine intolerant please seek advice

Thanks Louise hope your ok my friend. . I believe the pre vac interview is quite thorough though not with a doctor as such. I will reiterate what a couple of members said about being allergic to Penicillin and not being able to have the Pfizer vac. I let both my wife and Dad know as it affects them. All information is useful and may stop someone getting a bad reaction.

I would advise everyone to jot down their allergies prior to going and flag them up at the centre or ask their GP maybe.

Hi Chris

Just to say that I’m allergic to penicillin and had the Pfizer vac on Monday

I was told that the vaccine doesn’t contain any antibiotic and it was safe for me to have I was only asked about allergies and nothing else

I had no reaction at all only sore arm if that helps. Pippa

Hi ChrisI m fine and hoping you are too? Getting a bit cheesed with being locked up but counting blessings that at least we live in a lovely area! We ve decamped from the great unwashed in Bowness and bought a house in Arnside. Jolly nice it is too.

Currently sitting in the Christie waiting to be weighed and jabbed. Oh joy!

Lucky to have such a super hospital though. Stay safe Louise xx

Yes its tougher this time isn't it , , even though I consider myself a mentally tough person charicterised by my looong ongoing recovery from my SCT / GVHD I'm beginning to flag a little having my wings clipped so soon after getting my life back on track to a degree. I'm the kinda guy that needs purpose to drive me forward and being this time of year doesn't help. Still we will come through it im sure. I like the Arnside area , tis a while since I was upth big 'ill there , the Knott . .

Hope your jab was ok. Xx
