This is a question for the gents who have been through an SCT - whilst I quite expect to lose my head hair as a result of the chemo, should I expect to lose facial hair as well?
I’ve had a beard for a number of years, so much so that I don’t think my 8 year old daughter would recognise me without it! So it’s playing on my mind somewhat.
Any experiences or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, following my chemo, I did lose facial hair. For me thou being bald for many years ( inherited ) it wasn’t such an issue. My thought was, “this is a small price to pay”.
I understand how you are feeling, considering other people’s feelings as well as your own, but I believe children are so more accepting of how things are and if you explain what may happen, she will be fine with it.
Better to lose some hair than you…..
If you have the time before your SCT, maybe consider slowly shaving your beard down so the impact is less ( for her and you!)

I had SCT October 2023. Lost all my hair on my body. Even in my n’ose. My lashes they did not all fall off.
But today I have all of them again, but less than before.
Aged 58 going in, I didn’t have much hair on top and normally had it very short. It still started to come out so I shaved it completely. However, my moustache of 40-ish years, my eyebrows and my nasal hair (stopping a continual runny nose) survived throughout.
