Transplant postponed

Hey everyone,

Just a quick update—my transplant has been postponed until March 13 due to donor availability issues. It’s frustrating, but I’m staying positive and focused on the next steps.

I’ll be redoing all my pre-screening tests tomorrow to make sure everything is still on track. Hoping for a smooth process and no further delays!

Thanks for all the support—it really helps. I’ll keep you posted as things progress.

Sorry to hear it's been postponed but try to stay focused on what's ahead. Transplant day will be here before you know it. We'll all be here hoping for the best for you on the big day. Sending hugs from NYC.

Hi matey, sorry to hear your news, that’s so annoying when you were so close!

Still, you have to remember that your donor is probably just as annoyed as you are. You’ll be back on track in just a couple of weeks.

Sounds to me like you are in need of a bit of “shed time”. Remain positive and we will adjust our diaries!

Keep busy..

I'm keeping busy, but there's also a lingering sense of time slipping away. I'm doing my best not to let the fear of the unknown creep in too much. On a brighter note, it was my youngest's birthday on Monday, so we spent the day at an amusement park, making some great memories together.

I suspect we have all had those thoughts but you seem to me to be a fighter.

Just think of it as a bike rebuild, the new engine part is now expected to arrive in a couple of weeks so just get what needs doing in the meantime and when the time comes to ride it, all those setbacks will fade into the background.

All the best from a Pom!

Sorry to hear your transplant has been postponed, it is frustrating, it happened to me. Could be the donor is ill. Try to stay positive. Sending best wishes.

mine was delayed twice, moving it from December to Feb/March, once a scheduling issue and then I caught a cold! 14 years today I had my first chemo on day-10; best birthday present ever! Best wishes for the start of yours soon. Chris H

Sorry to hear of this delay but I’m sure this is to ensure everything is as perfect as it can be when they do proceed.

I’m still waiting for a date for mine, so feeling in a state of limbo, which is frustrating as I just want to get on with it but at the same time, will be enjoying and using the time wisely leading up to it, as much as I can.

Best wishes

sorry to hear it was postponed as that must have been a letdown. But March 13 isn't too far away so stay positive. Wishing you all the best

It's been postponed again, I think the donor has changed their mind. I'm not sure what will happen next.

In Sept 2024 they said I probably only have 12 months left, and that's what got me to commit to transplant. Now I'm 6 months down and maybe no donor available.

I'm sorry to hear that. I really hope the donor is prepared to move forward and help you or alternatively a new donor is found

The donor is out, so they are now revisiting the option of my brother as a haplo donor.
