Just wondering, if anyone has had the dreadful stomach bug over Christmas? This is the 1st time, I have had a bug after starting hydrea and I feel it is taking me a while to shake off.

Sorry to hear you got the stomach bug. Might be a bit worse since HU can also cause GI issues. If you notice a pattern of it taking longer to recover from infections then that would be something to let your MPN care team know about as that can be an issue with HU.

Hope you feel better soon.

We live in Pennsylvania. I keep hearing about a Norovirus going around in our area.

Hi MissLesley13,

Sorry to hear you have had this nasty bug, we have had the same here in Australia- I completely missed Xmas day as I was so sick. I was told years ago by my Pharmacist that Hydrea lowers immunity so we are really susceptible to anything like this going around. I find that I take longer to recover from any illness these days, however assumed it was due to another blood disease I have - who knows, but I’ve started wearing gloves to the gym 😍.

It took me a week for symptoms to ease, I hope you are feeling better now xx

Yes, I have had this over the last four days, never been this bad before, am also on Hydroxycarbamide, feeling very fatigued and no appetite at all even now, just need to take it easy as everyone says and not rush things. Hope you feel better soon x
