urgent advice

I have finally manage to book a holiday. I am currently on a cruise ship since Friday, heading for the baltics. I have worn masks on coach and busy places and been much outside rather than inside.

Since 3 am this morning I have been vomiting bile. I have had 6 episodes. I generally suffer with loose bowels and these have not been worse. Generally I get spasm all along my body, but most strongly gastric ones. I have no gall bladder and bile dumps in the duodenum.i am n two esomeprazole and on Rux 15 mg twice a day for MF2 on on Azathioprine for sarcoidosis.

I have no temperature, just very hot when vomitting and exhausted.

The dilemma…..

Should I call the ships doctor and report what I think is food poisoning and try and get an antiemetic injection, with the risk of being told to stay in the cabin for days.

Or see how I go and hopefully see a bit of Helsinki tomorrow….if luck is on my side.

I have not managed to keep sips of fluid down, nor a tiny bit of banana I hr ago?

What is the result of not being able to keep Rux and various other tablets down. Last Rux last night at 11.

HI Artydutch, I am so sorry to hear that you are unwell, but you must speak to the doctor straight away. I do hope that you recover soon and can enjoy the rest of your cruise. Best wishes, Maz

I had a bought of Norovirus on a cruise ship last year - if you do have that they will confine you to your room until symptoms disappear. Cruise ships are notorious for Norovirus with everyone touching everything everyone else is. Especially I think if you go to the buffet, I always wash my hands with soap and water before going to the buffet and after you get your food and set it on your table wash my hands again.

Good Luck!

Had to see the doctor eventually as temperature increased to 37.6 As expected stuck in the cabin for another 24 hrs. Unlucky. Thanks for your concern and advice!
