While HU can cause joint pain. this symptom can happen for other reasons too. Suggest that you consult with both your MPN care team and other doctors as needed. It is a bit hard to tell if you need to see an orthopedist or a rheumatologist or both. your GP can likely help with that.

It is worth noting that the dysregulation of the JAK-STAT pathway increases the production of inflammatory cytokines. this systemic inflammation can have pervasive impact on the body.

I recently had a flare of lateral epicondylitis (AKA tennis elbow) and have osteoarthritis in the knees. While systemic inflammation is part of the picture, these conditions are treated the same as they would be for anyone else. It is also worth treating the systemic inflammation. There are different approaches. Some of us use curcumin, N-Acetylcysteine, anti-inflammatory diet, and other interventions.

Wishing you all the best.

Yes I'm on Besremi for PV, and tho the numbers are now good, winter and spring brought a slew of side effects, including what feels like intermittent joint pain (shooting and arthritic sensations) and occasional hip/thigh bone pain. As noted in another post, I had some foot problems too--as if the achilles heel was weak and the arches fallen. I walked stiffly like an ancient one for a few days.Taking hyaluronic acid and MSM, NAC, tumeric etc to attempt to control this nonsense. Partially success with these, or perhaps the on/off problem is being worked on by other internal forces.

Hi,

Was your heel discomfort diganosed, was it achilles tendonitis?

Thanks

I did not have any medical check up. It flared, I took supplements, and it died down.
