Hello, while on Pegasys do we still have to avoid or minimise sun exposure like on Hydrea? Or that's okay to hike in sunny days ?Just wondering as I live in Australia where most of the year is really hot and sunny.
Thank you

as far as I know it is normal sun protection, peg or no peg but someone here might correct meπ
There is no particular elevation in risk for skin cancers on Pegasys. We do still need to take the standard precautions everyone should take. No reason to risk another cancer when you have a MPN.
If we have stopped taking hu do we still have to be extra careful?
I have never seen a timeframe for how long after discotinuing the HU you need to still be taking additional sun precautions. Based only on the very unscientific basis of how long it seemed to take my body to recover when I stopped taking HU, I would say at least three months. Note, that is just a wild guess with no basis in data.
I would go back to the theory that when you already have on type of cancer, it is best not to risk getting another. For myself, I am careful about sun exposure, using sunscreen when I will be outside a lot. I think this is just being prudent. I do not completely avoid sun exposure, just try to be reasonable and apply protection as needed.
Just use F 50 & hat I have been many hot areas since on it . Just normal caution .π
Hi! I spend all my holidays in tropical areas and only use a good effective SPF like Australian Gold which is also waterproof. I have had no problems at all. xx
Thank you all for the contributions. Now I know there is no drama being on sun as long as we are adequately protected ππ
