Ive been on watch and wait now for a year or so just taking aspirin ,but I read somewhere that some treatment can stop the disease progressing ,anyone know if this is correct,thanks.

This is definitely something to talk to your doctor about. I’m sure others will weigh in with better information, but there is evidence to suggest that the interferons (Pegasys and Besremi) can modify disease progression. It’s possible that Jakafi can, as well; but I’m not as familiar with that. I think many on this forum have experienced improvement in the disease state or at least a slowing of the progression after being on one of the interferons for a period of time.

I was on aspirin and phlebotomy only for many years and definitely wish I had talked to my doctor about an interferon many years before I did.
