Has anyone had a similar experience? I suddenly had an excruciating pain half-way down my calf on the outside of my right leg. This lasted about 12 hours but was on the same level as the pain I had when I had pulmonary embolisms 2 years ago. It was accompanied by a type of 'cramp' feeling round my entire pelvis and both legs but the pain from the calf left leg predominant. I eventually fell asleep, and when I woke about 2 hours later the acute pain had virtually disappeared. 24 hours later it has still not reappeared. However, the 'cramp' got worse and continued for about another 16 hours when I fell asleep and woke up virtually pain free.
I was worried about a possible DVT despite being on blood thinners (daily: 75 mg aspirin and 20 mg rivaroxaban) given my medical history. However, there was no swelling or redness at the site of the 'calf' pain. I saw a GP who offered a scan but said he thought there was little point in it so I did not accept. About 3 months ago a curious bruise appeared together with some lumps on my upper arm. This was investigated and I was told it was a lipoma.
Could this be linked to the flu jab I had the day the pain started? Or, any other ideas? Sallie
