Should I have a dental implant or bridge ?

I have PV (JAK2 Positive) my disease is very well controlled on 45mcgs of peginterferon alpha-2A every 8weeks. I wondered if anyone knows if it is safe for people with PV to have the more invasive dental implant than have a bridge fitted thinking of the risk of bacterial endocarditis? Thank you

Hi, I'm have ET and on hydroxycarbamide, I am in the process of sorting out denture needs. I have a bridge. I've had it since I was 30 after having an accident. I'm now in my 60s, and the bridge is becoming lose with shrinking of the gums. I am seeing a dentist next week that does implants and bridges. At the moment I'm unsure what to do, both are rather expensive and what are the disadvantages with health and my age what will be best.

I couldn't have an implant, so had a bridge - although it was nothing to do with me having PV. My sinuses are positioned lower than 'normal'.

My daughter doesn’t have an MPN but has had a dental implant for over 30years because of a cleft lip and palate. They chose this over a bridge as they said that a bridge doesn’t last as long and potentially would need to be re-done. She has had no problems with it so far.

Thank you, yes I think an implant is the best procedure.

Hi, I have P V and had two implants without any issue whilst I was on HU. Now I am on Pegasys and will probably have another one in the course of next year. I just had a tooth pulled out and was fine. I think I would be concerned if I was on ruxolitnib, but with Pegasys I have not noticed any heightened risk of infection. Incidentally, I believe that being on HU (for two years) made my teeth more fragile .

Thank you that is very reassuring.

Even the best ceramic implant cause anaerobic bacterial growth in the jar, born starting out about a year and a half after procedure. For this reason I have opted out because I tried to reduce any possible burden on my immune system. I now have two missing teeth and I only have a tooth that clips onto the other teeth in front and back of it. I take it out during the night. I will be removing three more root canals next summer, but only with a biological dentist. They clean the area with the incision completely and treat it with my own plasma and ozone before closing the wound.

They don’t just put a gauze in your mouth and tell you to go home. Every single tooth sit on a Meridian that leads to some part of the body, meaning the organs.

my upper left wisdom tooth had anaerobic bacteria is in the jawbone and that sits on the Meridian of blood production in the body. As soon as I had that tooth removed and properly cleaned out, even the job on with scraped in order to get the bacteria out. My own plasma was used to help the healing and the ozone to kill all bacteria. Three weeks later, my ETA was down by 200 and stayed that way. Three different alternative doctors had diagnosed this and also three other teeth. It’s definitely not woo woo medicine! 🙂

I have had ceramic implant in and root canals out and mercury etc by expert eco dental surgeon and detoxed afterwards etc. What evidence is there that the ceramic implants cause anaerobic bacteria in the jar., what is the jar by the way. The surgeon I used is ver much into no bacteria etc so I would be surprised if he is putting in implants that cause bacteria. Getting the root canals out is a very good idea.

In the jaw bone. This has been told to me by biological dentists, and I have also heard it and read about it in internet. When there is work done in the jawbone, and there is any strange element in there there is a reaction. Ceramic of course is much much better than any metal. I am 58. If I was much older, I wouldn’t care and I would put in the implant, but I’m very sceptical about it now.

Hello,

Just in the midst of my 2nd dental implant now and the 1st one was done before I was on Besremi. Had no problem after 1st implant, took a regimen of antibiotics and everything turned out fine. I recently finished a round of antibiotic for the 2nd implant and was concerned at first because of being on an interferon, yet all looks good (just had a checkup. ) It is your choice, though bridges are more prone to breakage and other issues down the road. With an implant, it is done and "life goes on"! I would consider it. Best of luck with your decision!

I have post Et Myelofibrosis. I just had 2 extractions of my back teeth and didn’t replace them. Now I need one more extraction on the other side, on my second to last tooth. I guess after reading these posts, I’ll probably ask my dentist what he recommends. I’ve been taking Ruxo the last six months.
