Hair Loss on Hydrea

I too loss lots of hair while taking Hydrea, then Anagrelide, and finally Jakafi. After starting to an MPN Specialist almost 2 yrs ago & switching to Pegasys, my hair is coming back in. My hair dresser is amazed at how much regrowth I’ve had. It’s still fairly thin on top, but slowly filling back in. Good luck!

hi I also had hair loss with Hydrea after 2 and half years I’m on Anagrelide at present only been five weeks hope it goes ok are you liking Pegasys how long have you been on it I also got very nauseous on Hydrea hope you are good

I didn’t do well with hydrea or anagrelide. Neither lowered my platelets. I felt awful on hydrea & gained a lot of weight while on it. Anagrelide gave me heart palpitations. I’ve been on Pegasys around 2 years. My platelets aren’t completely down to normal but I feel a lot better on it & I’m hopeful it may actually slow down the JAK mutation & not just treat my symptoms. It started raising my liver #’s so I’ve had to lower my dosage lately. If you’re not seeing an MPN specialist, I would highly advise it. I saw a hematologist for several years before going to a specialist & have done much better working with a specialist.
