I had an email back from Professor Harrison of Guy's. ,secretary. The Prof. Said I should let my local team know plan and didn't express concern re stopping meds . For a month and do a detox with Toxaprevent. If nothing else it will do digestive system good...

Also spoke to lovely haemo. Nurse who said its an unknown experiment and didn't think it a silly idea...

Sounds like a good plan. Happy detoxing!

Hi there. I was really interested to read your post. I’d never heard of ‘Toxaprevent’ and so was curious to learn more.

I see there is a lot of debate about the efficacy or not of ‘detox’ regimens in general and formulas like ‘Toxaprevent’ in particular and that there is evidence that some elements in these compounds may not only be ineffective but also counterproductive.

What I’d like to know is whether Prof Harrison is endorsing this as a ‘good / useful thing’ for patients on Hydroxy and other MPN related drugs? (As opposed to saying if you really believe in this and want to do it I don’t have an issue with you stopping your meds for a month etc.)

As a long term Hydroxy patient I am aware of the huge benefits of the drug in controlling my disease I’m also aware that I’m ingesting a highly toxic compound which might also have less desirable impacts on my body. Obviously I’m keen to mitigate those. But only if clinically proven, advisable - and advised. Maz - perhaps Prof could clarify?

I have an excellent well qualified ayurvedic practitioner who knows me well . She has a wealth of knowledge ,looks carefully at blood test results . She has looked into safety and benefits of Toxaprevent . Definitely beneficial before I started meds.

This is an experiment that I am happy to do

Proff. HARRISON didn't endorse it but I feel she would say 'don't 'if she felt it to risky.... .

As long as I am monitoring bloods closely and don't have concerning symptoms I

Take full responsibility of decision.

This is an unconventional approach

The Haematology Nurse I spoke to yesterday didn't think I was taking a great risk ..

Thank you for your thoughts.

Hello so glad you mentioned Ayurveda l decided l need some hands on therapy and have a session booked in a couple of weeks. I opted for an oat massage seemed least invasive. Do you have any experiences you could share about Ayuverda as a good massage treatment . She is aware of my Mpn.. lm sure you will have a good outcome from your detox.Adiewon

I have found Ayurvedic massage very helpful in helping me stay balanced during ups and downs of living with an ongoing disease .

So I feel at ease not dis ease !!!

I did a years treatment called Amnanda . It’s one massage a month with emphasis on different parts of body …

I prefer too asses how I’m doing by how much I can feel at ease with life , not just symptoms…

Do hope you have found a good practitioner .

Never heard of oat massage .

Do let me know how it goes

Why dont you use natural detoxification? For example, saunas, bathing with Epson, dry brushing, etc.Careful with this suplementation, Toxaprevent, because you dont take it with medication. Check.

Thanks for concern. Yes definitely not to take with meds. Or without support of trusted professionals..Dry brushing is good . Havnt done for ages .

Good to be reminded...I'll start again when bathroom isn't so cold !!!

I'd love a sauna in garden . None close by

This detox definitely is a good one occasionally

Hi Mostew, I haven't heard to Toxaprevent before. Had a quick look via google. I am sure you have a reason and I support you. Maybe you would post on here every few days and let us know how you are? Have a great outcome x
