covid vaccine induced platelet disorders

patriciapugliese profile image

justthenews.com/politics-po... I was diagnosed 6 months after receiving my 2nd pfizer shot. When I asked my hematologist about the connection he saw none. I'd be curious how many others were diagnosed with ET JAK617 positive after receiving covid vaccine.

Thank you so much for posting that article I did click on it it's amazing this is stuff that a year or more ago you would have been blocked from posting on this I was once you're never allowed to say anything about how a vaccine has adverse reactions even though this should be said and it's called free speech so thank you again

I've had a lot of bad reactions to this one vaccine And who knows what's right or wrong to do but there should have been longer studies and they're not reporting all of the blood clots and deaths especially in young boys

one here in Michigan died at 14 right after the 2nd Pfizer so thank goodness for free speech and calling this to people's attention not all vaccines are 1 size fits all. I am seeing a lot of young teenagers die in the US out of nowhere and 65 and up crowd. By the way these shots have only been around about a year and a 1/2 and a lot of people ar on their 6 or 7th does anyone else find that to be overkill?

Does anyone remember Midwin Charles, healthy and beautiful and young, vaccinated then died. I find no cause of death soooooo suspicious for so many people now.

have you had genetic tests done as part of your diagnosis, I remain a little sceptical that an ET diagnosis is a direct result of covid vaccine or covid itself given its route cause is a genetic mutation. I have no doubt that covid and the vaccine itself elevates platelet counts, it has in my case.

Yes I have developed JAK71617V (environmental I wasn't born with it)

I’m not aware of any scientific evidence that you can acquire the gene mutation, only that it develops in womb or soon after birth, n then activates at some point during life. That’s from MPN voice forums, which tend to cover latest research

I did not read anything about acquiring the mutation in the womb? I was told it was not genetic but environmental and I wasn't born with it. Is that information inaccurate?

I’ve had ET since before Covid but my hematologist and neurologist told me to get the Johnson and Johnson Covid shot I suspect due to blood clot potential but also the MNRA shots also have polyethylene glycol in them which I think I have become allergic to.

I agree with you. I was diagnosed with ET after I had my Pfizer shot. I have asked a couple of doctors about this and they don't believe the shot caused this. But, supposedly I have had ET since 2009 but was never diagnosed until after my shots.

my doc said the same thing; they are repeating their talking points provided by USDA & pfizer. No question in my mind the vaccine caused my ET

Defo I believe too it was vaccine

Hi, Thanks so much for posting...I've been wondering about this. I was dx with ET JAK2 -617 3 months after my 2nd Phizer shot at age 53. My first instinct was that there was a connection. I asked my GP, local hematologist, and MPN specialist about this and they said not related except for low platelets. If it can make them low, is it such a stretch to think it could make them high? 3 yrs earlier my platelets were in the 200 range and at dx in the 800 range. I was thinking at the time I should report to Phizer. I think I might now. I had a very strong reaction to the second shot. I decided to not get anymore after that. I don't know for sure root cause. Possibly combination of things including above

unfortunately with pfizers immunity we will not know for years. If there is an increase in our "rare" blood disorder that will tell the tale.

The first time my platelets were ever abnormal were a week after my j&j shot. Dx with ET a month later

Had JnJ vax 2 months after they were above 450. Platelets continued to rise for 2-3 months reaching 750 in 3 months. After experiencing symptoms was Dx with Essential Thrombocythemia in July - confirmed by Jak2 genetic test then. So, it looks like no correlation. I will not do PHZ or MOD vax despite my hemoc, GP telling me they are much better than JnJ. Plus, I read that HU negates the effects of the JnJ vax and for that matter - the flu virus vax. I’m more afraid of the vax than the newest version of C-19 which I caught in October. Got the monoclonal antibodies infusion and improved remarkably in 24-36 hours.

I am not a specialist, but when a mutation occurs, it does not change all the cells at the same time. Mutations are happening all the time. Some will eventually manage to bypass the protections that destroy the cells with mutations, some of them even with mutations are harmless. Unfortunately, some can harm and if they manage to replicate, it still then have copies in which can have more and more over time. This process though normally takes long time to get noticed. There is a ratio to compare the amount of mutation over the regular ones.I was reading somewhere (I don't recall the source) in which, if you measure that ratio over a period of time enough to have a trend, you can do some rough estimates on when you had the first mutation.

For the jak2 mutation, some studies suggest that it happens, most likely in early life, and the high counts are only noticed later in life.

So, in my opinion (and again, I am not an expert thus just my opinion and my perception) unless you knew already if you had or not the mutation and its mutation ratio prior to the COVID to compare, it is hard to know that this is COVID related. The early stages of the mutation wouldn't cause such amount of platelets or other blood cells to go high enough to be noticed, and if it was the COVID vaccine, you would have to have multiple parallel mutations of the same kind and at a high rate, as the COVID vaccine is there just for a couple of years. That's the reason I think it is unlikely from my non-expert perspective.

Maybe you first noticed it with the COVID? Or if you check and compare old blood tests...

Valid to mention that mutation, in general, and from my perspective, is something to be considered a good thing. Viruses, environmental things, chemicals, copy process itself, etc all influence and can induce mutations. Some don't cause any harm nor produce any benefit, some will be bad (our cases) but they also make us diverse, which generate benefits. Our diversity is what makes us to exist. If we were all the same, we wouldn't be here as what would "kill" one, would kill all.

Unfortunately we were a bit unlucky (or maybe, seeing from the bright side of life, "lucky" among the unlucky ones to have a mutations that we can still manage).

This is a video I really love showing a "simulation" about how we evolve (evolution) and the relation with the mutations, in how mutations are important.

thanks for this, I find it worrying that so many are attributing the gene mutation on a vaccine with no evidence at all. The jak2 gene mutation existed before covid and related vaccines. There would have to be a clear spike in diagnosis directly after having vaccine if it is caused by it, and this would have been spotted by the medical specialists fairly quickly. The top specialists wouldn’t recommend having the vaccine if there was even a hint it caused MPNs

No I didn't say anything concrete at all. I found the correlation interesting and stated if there is an increase in ET in the coming years we'll know the source.

I do not think my Covid vaccines caused my ET JAK2. My doctor had been watching my platelets slowly rise for 4-5 years. When platelets reached 621 he referred me to a hematologist. First lab seeing her they jumped to 735.

However, I do suspect that for the first time in my life I developed psoriasis on my scalp and some on legs. This developed after seven vaccines in 2021….3 Moderna, 2 Shringrix, flu, and DTap booster. I believe they affected my immune system. However, my GP and hematologist have no idea.

had two vaccines March/April 2021. October 2021 had yearly cancer recheck. They saw reduction in platelets but didn’t seem too concerned at that time. December 2021 got booster.

October 2020 platelets were 167,000. October 2021 count was 86,000. April went to new doctor and found my count was now down to 58,000. Since then the lowest has been 33,000 and highest 69,000.

Initial thought was radiation caused bone marrow issue. Nope, bone marrow biopsy negative. Started promacta two different doses. I’m a mystery!

a big spike in diagnosis would be noticed quickly by MPN specialists…. Research to date says the gene mutates early in life, in the womb or soon after. It becomes active at some point in life, and its only when blood counts go out of the normal range it is diagnosed in general. You’ve had the mutation already, and the specialists wouldn’t actively advise us to have the vaccine if it caused MPNs. Being diagnosed isn’t linked just because you had a vaccine around the same time is my view

dbus1417 profile image
dbus1417 in reply toMinu68

You give the “specialists” way too much credit. These mutations are actually somatic and acquired by most people through exposure to various chemicals (benzene / toluene) or radiation which damage your genes. MPN are generally not hereditary.

It is known that the “specialists” were paid to tell us to take them and cover up or ignore the negative effects.

For me, I work in the petrochemical industry which I know for certain increased my risk but I think the vaccine activated my mpn either by damaging my genes or suppressing my immune system to allow the mutant CALR clone to proliferate.

Oh the specialist wouldn't advise us.....I remember being a small child and the ice cream man's hands were where his elbows would be without the defect Thalidomide was a widely used drug in the late 1950s and early 1960s for the treatment of nausea in pregnant women. It became apparent in the 1960s that thalidomide treatment resulted in severe birth defects in thousands of children. Should I go on? I for one am going to pay attention to see if there is an increase in ET diagnosis as there has been proven with blood clots causing premature death as a result of the vaccine.

Exactly. I have absolutely no trust in the medical field nor the government. The amount of things they hide would blow most people's minds.

if I had not had routine blood test done before getting the Pfizer vaccine I would have thought the vaccine caused the elevation.

Had elevated blood platelets starting 8 weeks after receiving J&J vax. Blood work prior to vax for years showed normal (200ish) levels. I definitely think it is related. Everytime I got a booster shot (Moderna) my platelets would elevate also. Now that I’m not getting vax platelets back into low 400’s.
