I had my appointment at Guys yesterday with Professor Harrison-what a lovely lady she is
She listened to what's been going on with my health and my erratic immune system and believes (as well as I have done for some time) that the Peg is causing my immune system to go a bit mad and cause the gastro and other issues I have been experiencing. I'm now off the Peg and have another appointment in August when other medication will be looked at. I'm hoping my overactive immune system will start calming down over time now x

Sorry to hear peg didn’t work for you but sounds like you should be feeling better soon now you have stopped it. Hope you get sorted with your next appointment.
Sorry to hear that the Peg did not agree with you. Besremi is supposed to have less side effects, I am sure Dr Harrison will know what is best for you. I would recommend following her instructions. Best to you.
Hi Prof Harrison has advised hydroxea may be a better option for me I've had so many things go wrong in the last year and I really thought it was the Peg but my local haematologist was adamant it wasn't I'm so glad I got to see Prof Harrison x
That may be one reason we all need to see a MPN specialist at least occasionally. I have been on HU for one year. My PV is currently well controlled, had bloods drawn yesterday and saw MPN specialist at same time. He is happy with how things are going, I am 72 with PV. He said he would facilitate a change to Besremi if I want to when I questioned him about it. I don't know what I plan to do, starting to see more and more people who cannot tolerate interferons, though most seem to do well. Best to you going forward.
