I have had the covid vaccine, the booster, and then got covid. My gp doesn't think I should get another booster as he says they can cause blood clots, as per the J&J. I haven't asked my hemotologist. Have any of you had similar advice? My gp feels my covid was like getting another booster.

Probably BETTER than a booster. Now you’ll have some natural immunity.
I agree completely with Barbiebreath! Definitely better than a booster.
Who knows? I’d had 4 doses of Covid vaccine by December 2021. I invigilate exams but didn’t catch Covid in school, where I double mask and open all the windows (“It’s cold, Miss!”).
My husband (he sees almost no one except one particular friend who didn’t know he was Covid positive) infected me in March this year! Was very poorly - could barely move for a week. Haemo encouraged 5th dose. Was reluctant but had it a few weeks ago in the end. Waiting for two more fingers to appear on each hand 😂.
I’m under Guy’s they encourage covid vaccines. I think they believe it’s the lesser of two evils.
I wasn’t vaccinated at all. Finally got covid recently and took Ivermectin and the whole protocol prescribed by docs who have successfully treated covid. As a result I had no fever, no difficulty breathing, nothing serious at all. And now I have natural immunity. Much better than any booster. So glad I never got the jab!!!
How do you know you have natural immunity? You were lucky the medics risked their lives caring for those who contracted covid in the early days. Not knowing what they were up against. Trial and error prevailed and many people didn’t have the opportunity to have drugs in the early days. They died. Thank you to all those who were in the front line, ( bus drivers taxi drivers etc) and cared for and still are caring for covid patients. Heart felt sympathy to those who lost loved ones
Worth checking with your haematologist. Like Wyebird I’ve got the very strong message from the MPN specialists that we should take all vaccines / boosters on offer.
Certainly they wouldn’t advocate - like some here - going unvaccinated. Not least because of the health implications for the wider community in general. Contracting Covid ‘naturally’ once does not guarantee you won’t contract it a second (or indeed third) time. Anti virals are not a given thing.
I’m definitely a little vaccine weary. I’m also weary of feeling ‘left out’ as society ‘returns to normal’. And I don’t want Covid not least because I don’t want to risk infecting those I live with who while vulnerable are not on the tight anti viral eligibility list.
It would be interesting to know what the MPN specialists think about having jabs four or five post Covid infection. I’ve got one eye on the Autumn when Covid / flu will begin in earnest - both jabs and viruses!
Both my GP & Haematologist have recommended getting all jabs offered, now had 2 AZ, 2Pfizer and reluctantly my 5th (Moderna) 2 weeks ago..this one has completely wiped out my energy ( what little I have !) for the past fortnight…apart from the first day and a half , where there were no symptoms. I think as others have said, hopefully Covid will give you stronger immunity , but for now we are all Guinea pigs in a huge guessing game !
