Hey Phil I've got vaccination envy ! Thwarted in my attempts to have my 4th booster due to the onset of a grotty heavy cold about 3 weeks ago which is still plaguing me. It's been a good while since I copped for any cold / infection that I'd forgotten how hard they hit me. Coughing so bad my ribs were tender. And still with a blocked nose and producing phlegm , horrible nasty stuff that it is. It reminded me why I don't want a bad dose of Covid the way a common cold grips me. Tested negative several times with this.

As soon as I'm clear of it im booking my 4th jab. I'm not letting my guard down regarding mask wearing either , not sure where I got the cold probably one of our Grandkids.

Stay safe !! - Chris

Likewise Chris.... only got my 4th jab a couple weeks ago due to Bronchiectasis flare ups and on IV antibiotics.I was advised no jab until ok. Just finishing yet another dose of antibiotics.... been a terrible winter for me as well as MF(on no meds at all for a long time due to contributing to immune system. I'm struggling atm.Have a good Easter.Lynn

Hi Lynn, , empathise with your MF , , prior to my SCT I got regular infections , , most being colds but developing rapidly from a sore throat maybe runny nose day 1 to being something akin to armageddon in my head by day 3 or 4. One Winter I had influenza B virus twice. I had to avoid busy places except ironically attending clinic which was usually rammed and with several folk coughing and spluttering. I was one of the few back then with a mask and hand washing in clinic. Like you I feel I'm having an uphill battle just now but once the sun shines I'm sure I'll feel much better.

Have a good Easter too and Thanks for your reply.

I’m sorry to hear that just prior to Covid I was at Christie’s for my consultation sat next to a guy talking who coughed in my face next day I’m like yourself had three different lots of antibiotics to clear it and had to go into day clinic at the Christies if I get anything on my chest it’s a nightmare Hope your getting through it ok

Yeah I'm reasonably robust in dealing with stuff though my ribs still hurt from the lung busting coughing. Thankfully not on chest otherwise I'd be much worse. I'm sure I caught a bug at clinic a few years back simply because it was the only place I'd been in months.

Take care

You sound as though you have had the same cold as me. I had the awful coughing and phlegm and wondered how long it was going to go on. It is now the fourth week and I still have throat sore and croaky voice especally in the morning. Cant remember a cold like it but they are saying theres a bad cold going round which may be covid and not showing on the tests so goodness knows. Prob caught off my grandkids as well !!

I'm heading towards 4 th week with it and thoroughly fed up with it now. It's sure tough to shift , I've been having to lubricate my throat with a selection of ales for my ailment. Helped me enormously but the cold persists. Bless our generous Grandchildren.

Hi Chris. Sorry to hear you’re feeling poorly. I still haven’t had my booster but about a month ago I got diagnosed with pneumonia and was hospitalized for two days. They did a CAT scan of my lungs and said I have a little lung fibrosis. I’m still feeling the effects, Mostly shortness of breath and fatigue and tightness in my chest when I breathe. My gp prescribed Benzonatate for my cough and it’s helping a lot. As soon as I’m better, I also plan on getting the booster.

I hope you feel better soon.

Hi Cindy, gee you don't do things by halves , I do hope you feel much better very soon and can run into the booster clinic . I think I will feel happier when I've had mine given how this cold has affected me. Regards - Chris
