My name is Anna, I was officially diagnosed by BMB of a Myeloproliferative Neoplasm, Essential Thrombocytosis in December 2011. I have been aware of the condition due to the consistently high platelets counts since I got a DVT while travelling in 1999. I have also been informed over the years and kept records of many of my CBCs. I have been on Hydrea 500mg once daily and 100mg Aspirin for my MPN and pain medication for neuropathic pain. I started to become symptomatic following a dreadful viral flu that quickly developed into a condition called Polymyositis. On Hydrea I maintain platelet counts between 500 and 600. I seldom reach a platelet count in the average range.
