Does anyone know what blood levels are safe to travel overseas as my husband was diagnosed earlier this year with MF. We understand that haemoglobin needs to be above 90 in order to be insured, does anyone know anything further or have experience of this?
Thanks in advance

Whether it is safe to travel would depend on more than the HGB levels. Standard reference range for HGB is 11.20-17.50 [g/dL] at my lab. If your husband is at 90 grams per liter, that would be a significant level of anemia. This is a concern. The question about travel would need to also involve evaluation of immune system and other factors best addressed my your husband's hematologist.
Hi I have MF with low blood works but feel relatively fine. Having declared that I have MF with my travel insurer, the sort of questions asked, was have I had any unplanned admissions to hospital, any infections and whether you were travelling against medical advice. Nothing about blood levels.
Hi, that's interesting as I've heard from a couple of sources that blood levels get asked about. Thanks - we will look into it if the hospital says safe to
