JAK2 test

Hi everyone,

Had bloods tested for JAK2 two weeks ago, but wondering how long these usually take to come back? I am in the UK. Thanks in advance. Lynn🙂

Hi Lynn, mine was at least two weeks coming back but then had to wait another two weeks for a clinic appointment to get the results. Hope it’s swifter than that for you.

I think the norm is about 6-8 weeks as they have to be sent away because only a few labs test for the jak2 in the UK x

Hi Lynn I waited six weeks for my results, but that was back in 2013 things might of speeded up since then.Jean

In my case I was told 6 weeks but they came back after 4 . The waiting is horrid!! Good luck

Hi PeeetzilMine took 4 weeks (back in 2015)...probably much quicker if we had gone to the vet!

Mine took a couple weeks here in the US, mine came back positive for JAK2, and later a BMB confirmed CALR and no JAK2, so I would recommend you push for a BMB and an mpn specialist.

Hi, I can’t even get a referral accepted to Haematology never mind an MPN specialist! Maybe when I have the JAK result that will make a difference. Many thanks, Lynn 🙂
