Had appointment with hematologist today. My platelets have been hovering around 200 for quite some time so he’s lowering my HU dosage. Go back in 3 months for labs. I’m ecstatic!!

My platelets were at 41 last Thursday, so no cancer meds for a week!!! so, nice.

Was 41 a typo? That would be very low platelets.

not a typo. Yikes. I’m off bomedemstat now and today platelets up to 162. The thinking is the fungal med I’m on and the bomedemstat caused a rapid decline in platelets

Oral antifungal seds like ketoconazole and terbinafine come with a risk of thrombocytopenia. Sorry to hear you experienced what may become a future required warning about a drug interaction with bomodemstat. Thank you for being willing to participate in a clinical trial. This is the only way new treatment option can become available. Your experience will benefit others in the future.
