Hi do not be scared to take chemotherapy tablets I am in my 50s and been on them for many years they do make you tired but my consultant told me if possible have a nap in the afternoon and also nauseated but your gp can prescribe a drug called domperidone which works wonders and platelets are in a good place

Hi, I started hydroxea almost 5 years ago aged 64, no nausea but a few ulcers on my tongue from time to time. I take 11x 500mg tablets every week. There are people on this site who have been taking it for over 15 years so it seems to have a good track record! Whatever medication we take will have side affects but a stroke would probably be worse. Keep safe!
