Finally got 2 more knitted to add to the Dickensian Christmas scene. They will each have books of Carols made of felt and the boys will be holding a lantern. I will have to do a couple throwing snowballs and 2 street vendors, one selling roast chestnuts from a knitted fire pit and another selling mince pies. Good job there is a while to go till Christmas. Doing all this knitting between learning to paint portraits in oil. As long as my mind and hands are busy I am content.

Another Dickensian Couple
Brilliantly done. X
The Dickensian set it quite lovely. It is a great way to keep mind and hands occupied. Glad to hear you are doing OK amidst the craziness these days. I am really looking forward to the vaccines being fully rolled out. I would really like for things to get back to normal. I do home to get over to the UK for a visit once the COVID mess is under control.
All the best my firend.
Oh my but these are so wonderful. Do you think it would be possible to buy one & afford shipping to the USA? I can’t believe how good you are. Do these go to grandkids? I’m sorry but I can’t remember if you have grandkids. I envy you your artist skill. How can anyone be sad with these adorable creatures around! Congrats & great job!! Katie You brightened my day.
Thank you for your lovely comments Katie. Unfortunately I wasn’t blessed with children so no grandchildren. I just saw these and wanted to make them for a Christmas display. I cannot believe how people have responded to them. I was originally going to do two sets, one for myself and one for my best friend but since then I have promised Chris (Jedireject) a set and Tina as well. What I will do is do as many as I can before Christmas and then put them on here, first come, first served with proceeds going to charity. Keep an eye open in November so you can get them in plenty of time for Christmas. Take care over there, Jill
Another beautiful 2 to add to your collection. Looks like you might be busy for quite a while as it seems their is a lot of interest with some forum members wanting to purchase these lovely mice, me included. Tina.xx🤗
How talented you are Jilly. They are so lovely. What fun you must having adding to the collection.
I admire your motivation. I bought fabrics and patterns at the start of lockdowns intending to make lots of clothes etc, but didn’t figure on the lack of motivation that has crept up on me, plus fatigue that accompanies it.
Sorry don’t mean to hijack your super positive. Just so full of admiration for your output😌 Thank you for sharing.
Love Sandy xx
Don't say sorry Sandy, we have all had these moments. You need to start just one thing and you will see how quickly you get involved in your project and it really does help with your mood. I can spend hours painting then come down and start knitting. It keeps my mind from straying to this past years events and the crap world outside. Please, just give it a go xx
Hi Sandy, I don't think Jill will think your hijacking her post, I think she will be quite happy how many people admire her work and the dedication it must have took after the year we've all had and I must admit the lack of movitivation as crept up a bit here too thats why it gives you a bit of a lift to see something so beautifully made. Hope your staying safe. Tina.xx🤗
How lovely,Jill! It’s going to be a beautiful Dickensian Christmas display. Your plans sound delightful. Love, Fran
Thank you so much for posting photos of your inspired and beautifully crafted couple. You brightened up my day, Jilly!
Absolutely Lovely.
Roll on Xmas, can’t wait to see the finished product. Clever ickle Jilly! Xx
They are just adorable. I have no artistic talent and I am very impressed with your work. You’re fortunate to have something like that to keep your mind and hands busy. Keep it up! You’re bringing smiles to so many people.
They are just FAB-U-LOUS (As JB says rather loudly to acknowledge a great performance) .
And portraits in oil on top , , wow I envy your talent Jilly. . . My painting in oils starts and ends at doors and skirting.
Keep up the great work - Chris x
Yes Chris same here, I used to be quite handy with my decorating skills, sadly can no longer wallpaper with numbness in fingers on the left hand but still preety nifty with a paint brush. Tina. 🤗
Hi Tina hope you're ok. . Prior to my MF diagnosis I was a painter and decorator but I'm not too slick now. I can still do a bit in the house but had to give up work because of the fatigue mainly. Folk want the job doing in good time with minimum disruption and I couldn't guarantee that. I did a few small jobs here and there for friends but I did and still do miss full time working.
Anyway my mince pies let me down a bit now for painting straight lines and pattern matching. It's good when you can do your own decor coz you can change it when you get fed up with it.
Chris xx
They are perfect! I am a knitter too and have spent the pandemic knitting, walking and reading. I have made two shawls, one sweater, many bath and dish cloths and countless “stash” toboggans. The hats are put in our church “blessing box “ for the homeless.
Yes, busy hands, body and mind keep us from dwelling on ourselves.
They are wonderful, well done. Xx
Fabulous! You're very talented. X
