All looks good Jody.

Yes, we’re ok to have vaccine. I’ll be having it as soon as it’s offered.

Hi jody, it is quite safe for us to have the covid vaccine. I have had mine already as an nhs worker. No reaction and my haematologist reassured me that I should not hesitate to have it. Our platelets sometimes fluctuate for other reasons. Mine started at 800 a year ago and 595 at last blood test. Still on 75mg aspirin and anagrelide. I'm reviewed every 6/8 weeks so I can't complain. Keep going girl and take that vaccine when it's offered! X

Yes to getting the vaccine ASAP.

Sounds like the thrombocytosis is pretty stable. It is normal for platelet levels to vary by as much as 100K in a single day. As long as you stay symptom free and and the platelets cycle in the same range than tx should stay the same.

Hi Jody, My platelets are up as well - 610 or 620 and haem is down but my haematologist isn't worried. I have all my results and they are both going in opposite directions slowly but consistently, although she says they are hovering! In my opinion, now I'm over the shock of diagnosis, it's how you feel that matters. I will definitely take the vaccine when it is offered to me. We don't know when we can reap the benefits of it but the alternative doesn't bear thinking about. At the moment, it's more important to get your pain under control.
