Has anyone made Natto ? It’s high vit K and supposed to be good to prevent blood clotting . X

As I understand it, vitamin K assists blood clotting rather than prevents it - the K comes from the germanic 'koagulation'. I believe it can be used to reverse warfarin overdose.

I'm not suggesting you avoid it but do ask your haematologist before using it.

Thank you . I find it allvery confusing...!

Not taking warfarin but aspirin , so I’ll ring harm nurse later.

Really like all the fermented foods and want to try natto ...

I used to be on Warfarin (now on a newer anticoagulant Edoxaban) and I had to avoid foods with Vitamin K as it increased the risk of clotting/coagulation.

Hi there. Haven’t heard of Natto but I do know we should be wary of foodstuffs containing high amounts of Vit K as (as F of P says) it may stimulate blood clotting which is inadvisable for us MPNers. Becoming a disciple of Popeye therefore is probably unwise (though I do like a bit of spinach).

Interesting article but as others suggest check with haematologist or nutritionist
