You could always go keto? My cousin has completely reversed his type 2 diabetes on keto. He’s off all meds and blood sugar etc totally normal

I have a lot of diabetes in my family and a few years ago was on the edges myself

I started intermittent fasting and it’s been really good especially with weight loss and my sugar levels are now normal. I also have more energy. I do it long term to sustain 5/2 have breaks sometimes or just do once a week

Be careful with Keto it’s ok short term but has many critics

I’ve been keto for maybe 6 years? I also do IF. Done properly, it’s very sustainable (and the food is delicious) I really feel the different when I travel and go off keto - sluggish, tired, indigestion etc. I’ve read all the negatives when they come up but it’s usual written by someone who has a vested interest in knocking keto on the head (like Michelle Bridges) and /or they don’t get their facts right. Like critics who say that it’s too much protein - you actually can’t eat too much protein on keto or it converts to glucose and has the save effect as carbs. I monitor my macros carefully so I get the right balance of protein, fat & carbs (you actually do still eat carbs - just the right ones, like heaps of veggies and some berries)

I think the important thing is to research these diets and as you say do them properly. Fasting works for me as it’s the least demanding. My heritage is mediterranean so l love my cultural foods and my big loud family. Food is an important part of our interactions so I try to eat healthy within that framework - diets that limit categories of foods are not easy for me to manage

I totally agree with you. Food is very important to me - I come from a family of chefs and amazing cooks! My sister is a chef - and she’s on keto too
