Hi, I've just joined, after having a blood test in February my platelets 508, fbc normal, inflammation slightly high. I had a fushion in June 2017 as anaemic, is there anything to worry about the platelets? Thanks

High platelets
508 is not horrendously bad Lizzie (although higher than normal). Mine got up to 1200 at one stage and I think it's steady (and kind of acceptable) now on around 500.
That's high what caused that?
My endocrinologist assured me that at 500 - that it could be “ normal” for me. I think we need to take into account that we are all individuals and give a little leeway since no 2 people are alike.
I don't really know. I have a few auto-immune disorders and once you have one, it can snowball, with more manifesting. Re the high platelets I was diagnosed with Myproliferative disorder In addition, I have just finished treatment for breast cancer - it was diagnosed after a mammogram, 10 months ago.
Hi Lizzie20, you do need to discuss this with your doctor with regards to the platelet count and going forward with regards to what is causing this, has your doctor mentioned to you that it could be a MPN? Kind regards, Maz
Have you been diagnosed? If not that level isn’t that bad but do not be fobbed off request a few more. I was fobbed off. That resulted in a 10 month delay in diagnosis. Keep a copy of all your blood test results.
You could have raised platelets due to an infection you are unaware of.
It’s early days yet. Try not to worry.

Your doctor will probably order more blood tests to see if your platelet count is rising over time or if it has simply spiked because of an infection ...
Good luck!
