Maz, I am seeing a lot in reports that for a % of Covid patients there seems to be a problem with it causing blood clots. As I have ET and a history of clots I am natural concerned. Has MPN Voice heard anything on this?

You might find this useful (perhaps reassuring even).

At least it seems to be from an authoritative source - as opposed to the Mail, Express, or Sun newspapers who do not have a huge reputation for balanced reporting.

Hi Janet, I asked Prof Harrison and she has said:
Yes thrombosis is a problem. But we have no view that MPN increases that risk nor whether if you have had a thrombosis in the past that the risk is increased. Many patients with COVID-19 in hospital will receive anticoagulation protection with heparin and what the correct dose of that is forms part of some current research.
That's one of my issues as I had a huge DVT in my leg and clot in my liver. It still confuses me as to why some of us have letters stating we are vulnerable (I've got three now) and others have had nothing at all!
I think if I can get an answer to how vulnerable I really am , or if isolation is jjust a precaution, it would be useful. I am fine being at home for the most part, but may feel differently about it when they start to ease restrictions and I am stuck inside.
