Thanks for posting this Mel, I found that really interesting if a bit disturbing too.

All we can hope for is the blood thinners that we take give us some additional benefit.

Take care

That's what I was thinking too. Hope you are doing well. ❤

Yes, I’m doing ok Mel. Managing to get shopping delivered now, so that’s a huge relief.

I see in a response below that you are back at work. Amazon has had some really negative press towards the way it treats its workforce, whenever it is mentioned I think of you. It’s worrying that you have developed a dry cough, let’s hope it’s nothing more than just that.

I saw your Presidents press briefing that mentioned ‘corona’ will be back in the fall.....!! 🤔I love watching Piers Morgan grill our MPs on their handling of the Coronavirus situation. They have to be held accountable, he runs circles around them.

Take care in the best way you possibly can

Thanks for posting, Mel. I'm not sure what this new turn means for us, but it doesn't sound good. Although already being on a blood thinner might be putting us in a better position; I hope so. The virus is turning out to be something so different from what they first thought, and gets continually more serious. Looks like I'll be staying inside for awhile, and I'm grateful to be able to. Take care, Kim

Hello Kim. I was also hoping being on aspirin maybe will help as a prophylactic. It's definitely different than the flu. Stay safe. ❤

Hi mel, We are definitely in a serious situation, totally unlike what we call the 'normal' case of winter flu. It's becoming more serious each and every day. I was taking off Aspirin and put on Clopidogrel after my second stroke. I'm hoping like you and kim it also puts us in a better position, but this virus is breaking new ground everytime you look at the news. I didn't switch the television on until after Midnight as i had been busy most of the day doing bits and bobs around the house all day and was horrified when i was catching up with the days news reading some of the stories and also finding out that the most vunerable could be in lockdown for the rest of the calendar year! Certainly put a downer on the end of the day. My best friend from around the corner from me phoned to tell me she was sending one of her sons with some shopping to my door, we sometimes stay up talking some nights as her husband, son and daughter-inlaw are still stuck abroad unable to return and we are both having to isolate and she in particular is worrying about when things will normalise, i fear it will be a while yet. Hope your keeping well and staying safe. Warm wishes,tina.xx.🤗 P.s. tried to like your post but for some reason, the gremlins kept trying to unlike it. Lol.🤔

Hey Tina. 😊 Unfortunately I do not think covid19 is going away. The government here keeps saying it will be back in the fall. But it's still here! I saw an article that said Coronavirus can survive very high temps. But I also saw an article that said high temps kill coronavirus. Who knows what's true anymore? But no matter what...we can't stay in lockdown forever. I have a dry cough now. It started exactly 2 days after my return to work at Amazon. I was one of the few that actually wore my mask correctly. Most of the people had the masks pulled around their necks. In their defense, it is quite unbearable to wear a mask during physical work. I don't know if I have coronavirus but if I do then I am lucky that it so far has been pretty mild. I'm happy to hear you have people helping you out. You definitely need to be as cautious as possible with your history of strokes. I am limiting my time to the grocery store for sure. I'm going every 3 weeks. Other than work and the grocery store I am staying home. It was nice hearing from you. Stay safe. ❤

This is interesting and relevant to how people with MPNs might react to COVID 19. Hopefully this will be better understood soon.

As it's been mentioned, we are probably in a better position than many as we are likely to be on some form of blood thinner, whether that's low dose aspirin or warfarin.

Thank you for posting this interesting (though disturbing) article.

Clotting in CoViD19 may be connected with the "cytokine storm". I've just found this item online:
