One way of volunteering while you are in self isolation

Hi guys and gals

I know I cannot be one of the 405,000 people who volunteer to help the NHS but I have figured out something that can help give something back.

A short while ago our local neonatal unit appealed for baby blankets so, instead of twiddling thumbs, why don’t all of us who practice the age old craft of knitting or crocheting, knit for their local neonatal units. I know they couldn’t accept them at the moment but wouldn’t it be nice to be able to present them with a lovely bundle at the end of this dark tunnel.

You can get wool, patterns and knitting needles online at sites such as Wool Warehouse.

Happy knitting folks

That’s a very constructive way to use your time ‘ social distancing’ Jilly . Love the kind thought, as they? say a ‘win win’ . Well done you.

Stay well

Excellent idea. I've been making lap quilts for dementia patients, which is easy to do with scraps of fabric, you don't even need to match it.
