I know that there are people from NZ and Aus who are mrmbers of this community - many of them post and reply regularly and help us all - they certainly help me. My heart goes outbti them as they have to cope with the aftermath of the horrendous killings at the Christchurch mosque. I don’t really knowwhat to say, but I felt Inhad to say something.

All love

Rachel

Thank you for your Kind Thoughts at this time. "I don't know what to say", actually sums it up well in that what has happened is so horrible that it cannot really be expressed in words. I live almost 5 hours drive away from Christchurch, but even felt fearful after the news about what had happened to the people at the mosques there. It is so utterly devastating and sad for the victims of this, so many of them were people who had come to New Zealand to get away from violence. We can only hope that, bit by bit, lives will be healed and put together again by love and kindness.

As an Australian I’m appalled that it was an Australian who did this. At least it’s prompted their PM to look into stricter gun control.

Yes their leaders immediate reaction is to do something to prevent it happening again. Whereas America's leaders don't do anything and it happens time and again over there.

Well said Rachel. It's hard to find a positive from such an evil and indiscriminate attack, but the way that New Zealanders have responded by wrapping a blanket of love around their Muslim community points the way forward for all of us - wherever we live. Evil can only succeed if good people stand by and do nothing.

Thanks for posting Rachel. Yes, the New Zealand community has been in our thoughts and prayers throughout the weekend. Everyone, across the globe, whatever their beliefs, should be able to worship in their house of prayer in safety and without fear.

Thanks everyone, we're actually unexpectedly in the UK visiting parents and as Peter said it's hard to know what to say. Not being in NZ at the moment I didn't see it as it unfolded and was totally horrified, shocked and saddened when I saw the NZ news at 4.30am. I think everyone hoped that NZ would be relatively safe from those sort of attacks but it would seem that none of us are really safe from evil people like that. It's really heart warming to see the outpouring of love and support from all Kiwis, regardless of their ethnicity and religious beliefs, towards those affected.

Thanks Rachel for your kind words. Our daughter lives in Selwyn, Canterbury. Our granddaughter goes to school in Christchurch. They've all been saddened and have been effected, especially my granddaughter as her school is in the area of the shooting. Her school was in lock down for 6 hours following the shooting. After talking to my daughter this morning it appears there's a long way to go before there is normality.

Regards Lynn.
