Apologies if half of this post has already appeared - it just disappeared as I was typing.
I have ET and on Pegasys 90mcg weekly since last July, with good results. Since Christmas I have had recurring cellulitis infections and my GP is investigating me for diabetes. My last (GP's) blood test was only two weeks after my haematologist appointment but my platelets had dropped from 129 to 101 in that time (other counts were more or less unchanged). When I found this out, I phoned the haematology nurse but frustratingly my consultant was on holiday. I was advised by the on call haematologist to leave off Pegasys last week, but I had already done the injection. I am having another blood test at the hospital tomorrow (I left off Pegasys this week) and have also had another GP one today, which bled MUCH more than usual. I am now feeling really anxious about how low my platelets might be. I am expecting to hear back from the hospital the day afterwards but I am really struggling with worry about what it all might mean. I know that we can't get/give medical advice here but has anyone had a similar experience? Or at least tips for dealing with anxiety?
