Feeling better now

Hi

I thought I’d give you an update on where I’d got to.

I was diagnosed with ET last August and had been getting quite a lot of pain in my joints and back. My platelets are at 860.

Following your advice (thanks so much) I went to my doctor to talk about what could be causing this - could it be inflammation?

He tested me for various things including inflammation but it wasn’t that.

Anyway - he thinks it is poor circulation (I am getting white finger a lot as well) and this means the muscles aren’t getting enough blood which causes the pain.

I’m now on hydroxycarbomide - just for 5 days so far - no bad side effects as yet and the pain is reduced. It all seems a bit quick I have to say.

I am feeling much more jolly ☺️

Thanks xx

Hello wakeboarder - good to hear you are feeling brighter. I am ETJAK2 + found going on aspirin sorted a lot of my circulation issues - I have been on hydroxy for nearly 3 years and apart from a bit of a ‘tilt’ with symptoms to start with, I’ve had no major problems.

Hope you continue to do well on it, it zapped my platelet counts pretty swiftly. Very best Anne-Marie.
