Platelet count high
Hi TiffSmith27, the haematologist is the best person to answer this for you, hopefully you won't have to wait too long to see him/her. Maz
The medical term for elevated platelet levels is thrombocytosis. Thrombocytosis can either be primary (Essential Thrombocythemia) or secondary to another medical condition. The hematologist should be doing a number of tests, likely including tests for the most common MPN mutations. If you have not already chosen your hematologist, then here is a list of patient recommended MPN-expert docs. mpnforum.com/list-hem/ .
All the best to you.
Hello ye si was similar with repeated high platelets around 780. I have a diagnosis of essential thrombocythaemia. I am really well and have been on medication for over a year. Doctors have been great explaining everything. It may not be the same for you, but any questions please feel welcome to ask.
Probably like the rest of us here, your bone marrow is producing too many platelets. Stay in touch.
