Hello, i have a question regarding my mom’s condition. She told me her Platelet is 540, and hemoglobin is 95. Is that normal? What does it mean? What should we do? I don’t know anything about this matter, i hope you guys can help me understand. Thank you

PLATELET IS NOT NORMAL
Platelets are just a bit high and hemoglobin is low. It could be an MPN or something else. She should really see a hematologist. Sorry to be vague but this is a complex issue.
Presumably your Mum has seen a medical professional to have received these results. What did they recommend?
I have attached a blood reference range to guide you.
Hi arabits, it really could be a number of things, yes the platelet are a little high but not too much and hb is low .Do you know why your mum saw a dr in the first place and if she as to have any follow up tests? Atb, tina.🤗
Hi Arabits, has your mum been diagnosed with a MPN? It is very difficult for us to give you advice on ways to help her without knowing her diagnosis, is it possible for you to find out? Kind regards, Maz
Hi, if your mum has an MPN but she needs to be diagnosed by a haematologist, then this is a good place to come. This forum gives fantastic support to anyone who has ET, PV or MF. You can also look on the mpnvoice.org.uk website for trustworthy information.
Try not to stress, which I know is not easy. Share this information with your mum and talk about her condition. She won’t want you to worry but because you don’t know, you’ll worry more.
Kindest regards Aime x😻
I think your mum needs to go back to her GP for further testing to come up with a diagnosis. Lyn
