Hello Everyone,

I have done my CBC reports yesterday and send to hematologist and doctor still stand on wait and watch approach

My numbers are

RBC-5.1(range4.5-5.5)

HB-17.2(range13-17)

PCV-48 (range 42-50)

MCV-(range89-100)

WBC 9.3-(range 4-10)

Platelet 3.97 -(range1.5-4.5)

MCH-33.4(range 28-32)

Doctor said that since your RBC numbers is not high so there is nothing to worry!

Recent times I have experiencing gum bleeding and mild headache.

my HB crosses Above normal limits after 8 months.I have a only 2 phlebotomy before 8 months.

I have not on any meds .

This is my second hematologist and I thing its time to take 3rd opinion.

Best Regards

I’m afraid I can’t pass comment. Do your doctors know about your symptoms?

Have you been diagnosed with a specific MPN?

My heamo is an MPN specialist. She discusses what level of meds I should take with me.

Good luck

Variation in blood cell numbers is normal and it is hard to interpret out of context. If your diagnosis is polycythemia, then the critical number is hematocrit (HCT). if you are uncertain that the hematologist you are working with has the KSAs (many do not) to treat a MPN, then consultation with a MPN specialist certainly makes sense. This is a list of patient-recommended docs with MPN expertise mpnforum.com/list-hem./ .

Hope you get answers soon.

If not having any Mutation, treatment is phlebotomy only.
