Vitamin c and fibrosis

Can anyone offer incite as to whether vitamin c promotes fibrosis via collagen development from vitamin c? It has so many other benefits in haematological parameters that I want to continue it but cautious due to forming collagen fibrosis.

Someone with a technical mind may be able to decipher this VERY long article, it should be read in it's entirety but introduce yourself down to point #4.

1st link concerning cardiac hypertrophy

2nd link paper on vitamin c

I have also read it can promote fibrosis in bone marrow (can't find the paper).

Those papers were a bit too complicated for me. I found this article that says Vitamin C can help prevent leukemia. It would be sad if it prevented leukemia but promoted myelofibrosis.

Thanks clubdino, exactly! It has so many benefits for mpn'ers except that collagen synthesis info. I had read the paper on bone marrow fibrosis & when the cardio link was put up it sent out alarm bells. Do we all have excess collagen accumulating in our heart muscle? The more we read the more questions are unanswered, unless there's someone out there that can decipher these papers.

Must point out the cardiac paper is for JAK2V617F positive mutation.

Thanks for the links Fee.

Goodness me, splenomegaly, hepatomegaly and now cardiomegaly 🤔

The vitamin C article is too complex for me as well. If you look to the right of your post there is a similar post about vitamin D stimulating bone marrow disease. Hope someone who is scientifically minded can elaborate.
