Yes it does when your body adjusts keep well hydrated,I was on it 9 yrs ,just the first few weeks that were really awful.Good Luck,it will pass.
Hi Hahag, Like you I am on Hydroxy, At the start I too sometimes feel a little bit sick and I have put it down to not having anything in my stomach, so, do you have something to eat AND drink when you take the meds. Do try it , it has stopped me from feeling sick. I am sure it will help you. Best wishes
Hi. I’m sorry you’re feeling so nauseated. I just wanted to say, in case there are Hydroxy newbies or about-to-bies reading this thread - what you are unfortunately experiencing is very unusual. Most people do not feel nauseated by the drug and if they do it’s usually fleeting (and as some posters have pointed out in past threads may be related to acute anxiety about actually commencing Hydroxy). Definitely agree about the water and food comments above. Very much hope you feel better soon.
Hi, I was on hydroxy for 2 years and the nausea never went. I came off it recently. Hopefully, as above, it will be an ‘adjusting’ symptom and will pass, but if it doesn’t I wanted to let you know that it can be the case that the nausea can persist.
I seem to have possibly avoided the nausea by taking Hydroxy in the evening, not long before I go to bed, so that I can sleep through any side-effects. Along with lots and lots of water, it seems to have worked so far🤞
Some great comments for you. If you give it a go for a while and you cannot stand the side effects you are having, there are other alternatives to it.
Hiya - so sorry to hear this as nausea is such an awful feeling...... my husband has been on Hydroxy for ten years and has never ever felt nauseous. I suggest seeing your haematologist and asking if you could be 'intolerant' to the drug - they may have alternatives you can try. Good luck!
