HU side effect

Recently increased dose of HU and suffered bloating and wind

The symptoms eventually settled down but at the moment I have stomach cramps and bloating in the lower abdominal region

Any ideas ?

Sounds as it could be either IBS or a bout of diverticulitis, both are not very nice maybe the anxiety of the operation has not helped try some mint tea or ginger tea, these both calm the tummy.

No advice offered I’m afraid just wishing you well. I’m on 17 hu and 10 anagrelide a week no bloating. How about constipation? I think that one of the side affects.

Yes I’ve had wind, “sore” stomach rather than cramps and lively bowel each time HU was increased. Now on 1500. It all usually settled down in a couple of days but never went away completely. Hope this helps.

I do find that increasing my water intake usually makes a difference. Good luck. Hopefully it will settle in time.

Yes, water is always good. Sounds like your micribiom is off. Get some high quality intestinal bacteria with many billions. Real, Original fermented Sauerkraut will also help immensely, in case this is the problem. I make it myself and eat 2 tbsp daily. You need to do this for a while. Meds often cause disbiosis. Cheers.
