PRV with b12 and folate defeincy ?

Newbie anyone have to take melds to correct either of these conditions running along side PV OR ANY OTHER MPN ?

Hi there. I have B12 injections quarterly and take 3000iu of Vitamin D supplement daily.

were you defient before you MPN Dx or after ?

& how do the injections effect your blood counts ?

Hi. Happened after all the venesections for the PV, but I’m now on PEG and not had one for some months now. Blood counts are ok at the moment. My GP checks my B12, iron and cholesterol with blood tests every 3 months.

Diagnosed in April. On 1,000mg HU daily. No phlebotomies. Recently put on folic acid when my MCV reached 114.7. I’ve never had an issue before being on treatment.

hi Cambrook what level was your serum folate @ when doc decided to put you on folate meds & is that medication some thing you will take for life or short term ?

Hiya, I have ET and also now pernicious anemia so also on B12 injections every twelve weeks. Had the ET diagnosed about 3 years before the B12 was needed
