Well another blood test ..Platelets now 1377.. every thing else remains the same.. appears I will start treatment in the next 6 months on hydroxy.. by then will be 55. Have just retired and hope they might have stayed consistent. Bit if this condition tells me one thing there is always a surprise to be had..
Well here's for a reduction ...have to hope..now coping with my elderly spaniel and kidney stones( his ) not mine..

I managed on that kind of count for quite a while - I was very keen to keep off the drugs. Thought I’d make it to 60 but when the platelets got to 1700 I was begging for Hydroxy!
Good luck with the hound. There was a point some weeks back that when I wasn’t at a docs or in an imaging department with one of the extended family I was down at the vets with the dog. Didn’t know whether to laugh or cry! (Find the former usually more productive!).
I'm 56 and hoping to make it to 60 without taking the drugs which I really don't want to take. My last counts have hovered around the 1.2 million mark , however my last count was surprisingly 997 which I was made up with. Good luck on the hydroxy heather, hope it all goes well, keep us informed how you get on . Oh, and enjoy your retirement.😀. Ian.
