I have read in several places that Folic acid is important if taking hydroxy. Today I was on the website " National Onion Association" and read some very helpful info on onions being anti platelet. It am Jak2 and ET on hydroxy and aspirin so I find the info interesting. Sounds crazy but!!! I am in Arizona.

Very interesting article. I had always heard that onions (and garlic) were natural blood thinners, delighted to read that they have platelet and bone benefits too! Thanks for sharing the article. Bruddery

When my husband was first diagnosed with MF/MDS and was on watch and wait he was prescribed folic acid and vit B6 and for quite a while brought his bloods up to near normal.

Hi Kathleen, I asked the medical team about flolic acid being important if taking hydroxycarbamide, and they have said that as far as they know, it isn't. So with any supplements or vitamins, use only if you have checked with your haematologist first. Maz
