I am on Hydroxy and have been getting waves of heat mainly in the evening - and occasional burning feet - has anybody else experienced this? It's not menopausal - I am 78! Is it a known side effect?

Is feeling hot a side effect of Hydroxy ?
Hi SkipperL. Oh yes this is very familiar. I get almost hot flushes at any time, not menopause , that happened 20 years ago ! Also get bad night sweats at times, I get up and get a towel to lie on. The good side of this is that I now have warm feet, I used to suffer really cold feet, have been known to take a hot water bottle away on Summer holidays ! But n need now as I have hot feet .
ET, on Hydroxy plus aspirin.
Regards Sandy
,
I find it's mostly in the late evening not at night - these things are so puzzling - I too was always frozen - but not now
Im 46 and get it, Im on Rux and certainly not menopausal either
I feel like my body thermostat is stuck on hot! I sit in a t-shirt while my partner is wearing about 4 layers including a fleece! We have very different opinions on open widows at times too 😂 I hate the hot flushes! I'm 67 so they are not menopausal. I get the hot toes too. I have post ET/MF so I guess it goes with the territory!
This is all such a bore - symptoms proliferate and come and go - stay cool!
I was on hydroxy now Anagrelide, I get hot sweats, particularly at night, the rest of the time I am freezing!
Hi Sandy , yep deffinatly for me also i feel my face hot but it doesnt show , also sometimes at night i feel hot ! and odd times during the day ,i think its due to mpn more than the treatment all the best Holly
A friend just asked me tonight as we left a restaurant in the wind and rain - "aren't you cold?" - for the first time in my life I could honestly say "no, I'm boiling!" - what a strange side effect - but the only one I'm happy about when the weather is inclement! SkipperL
At least we all save on the horrendous heating bills, I am on top of the duvet naked as the day I was born , windows open summer and winter, but with my trusty fluffy socks on which always are found on the floor in the morning, my poor hubby is under a huge duvet, wearing fleecy PJ's and telling me he is cold, sorry no sympathy from me ...just put another jumper on. Has anyone discovered they haven't had a cold since starting Hydroxy . I haven't had any in the last four years ? is that odd?
