Hi yes I have very bad dry mouth esp at night I also take water up and it's usually gone by morning. I have et also, so many of the drugs can cause it I don't really know why but on a good side it makes us drink plenty of water so it's a good thing maybe......

Hi I have ET and am on Hydroxy and Aspirin too plus some other meds for stomach issues and under active thyroid, I get a dry mouth too it’s particularly bad during nighttime. I wake up during night quite a bit and have to drink lots water even if I have kept up water intake during the day!! Then I wake up again having to pee.!! This is certaink6 normal for me. Best Wishes Liz

I've got ET and on interferon. My mouth gets that dry at night my tongue and throat are sore and raspy. I can't even generate enough "spit" to moisten my gums. I too have to drink water during the night.

Yes your body craves water. All I do at night is drink and wee. I take 2 tablets every night and 3 tablets on Friday Saturday and Sun nights Im gonna try and take 1 in the morning in the hope the thirst will ease and I’ll sleep better.

Almost certain it is not the ET, but the drug, which causes dry mouth. Every time I havenot been on a drug, it disappears, then when back on a drug, back comes the dry mouth....a real nuisance! But also know v good for us all, drinking a lot of water, so that is a plus! Best wishes, Tinkerbell.

Yes, I do the same. It worried me because extreme dry mouth can escalate tooth & gum disease. I’ve tried the mouthwashes & special toothpastes they sell to lubricate dry mouth like Biotin, but it still doesn’t help much. Still wake up at least 3 times a night to drink. I can’t remember the last time I slept straight through the night. I sure miss that.

Yes, hydration is important. In the morning I refill several water bottles and leave them around the house to remind myself to keep drinking. The hardest part is when traveling or in places where bathrooms are not so readily available and I have to "ration" my drinking by bathroom accessibility.

You can get a gel for dry mouth from gp, it helps especially at night. You only have to use a little bit.
