My lovely haemo told me that my next visit to him will be the last. He was on loan from another NHS trust and won’t be coming to our trust anymore. I’m quite worried about the future. I could go and see him at his trust but it’s a round trip of 160 ish miles.

Lovely haemo!
Hi Juliet, that's a real shame (was going to put a real bummer but didn't want to offend anyone 😆) coz when you get a Consultant /Haematologist who you have confidence in, has a good 'bedside manner' and is an all round good egg it's hard to accept anyone else. I know for a fact I would have been all at sea if my guy had jumped ship mid SCT treatment.
Maybe you should see what the replacement is like and if he or she doesn't suit then consider making that trip if you possibly can, it depends how often you go but I made a 120 mile round trip twice a week on consecutive days at one point (albeit using NHS patient transport ) but it was worth it. Even now I could go to my local hospital for a blood transfusion but would sooner make that journey to those I trust in.
Good Luck -Chris
If you have faith in him, it might be worth asking who he would recommend you see in the same trust. A good dr will usuallly recommend another!
Where are you? Perhaps one of us in your area could suggest someone who we have good experience with - offline of course.
Hi, I totally agree with JediReject,
I do a round trip of approximately 400 Miles. I go by train. It’s well worth it. Even though I’m mentally exhausted when my bloods don’t read as I want them to. Just ask your haemo if he will consider looking after you if his replacement is not to your satisfaction.
Thankyou!
