Hello , just a quick question. Why do I experience bad aching in my legs after venesection ? Every time I go about a week later my veins become extremely engorged and one leg will become painful with hospital querying blood clot .

sounds odd and must be worrying. Only thing I can think of is more hydroxy and less venesections?

Hi I’m not on any medication at all. I can’t take aspirin due to conflicts between my steroids.

Hi Kwebb, you need to tell the consultant and nurse before you have another venesection that this is happening to you. Have you also discussed alternatives to aspirin, there are a few. Best wishes, Maz

Hi. I have explained this and it’s happened again this time. I’ve been at the hospital all night tonight and they’ve given me a week of heparin to inject myself. No one ever suggests medication to me. I’m going to ask at next appointment because this happens at every venesection and I end up in agony and can’t walk. Thanks
