I telephoned my haemotology consultant and spoke to her secretary about my slurring speech (which has now abated) and I got a call yesterday saying the consultant wants to see me Monday. Was shocked at the speed but also grateful. I only wish I could start slurring again for the appointment so she can see how bad I get. I am a bit nervous and worried so I will be in the shed all weekend returning some beautiful solid oak tables back to their former glory after somebody shoddily covered them in horrible varnish. I get to use my new sander yeahhhhhhhh. Pretty sad that I can get excited about a new electric sander. Hubby stated "That's what I like to see, a woman who can handle a power tool". Whatever floats his boat lol.

Hi Jilly
So pleased that you have got an appointment so quickly - good to know that you are being looked after so well.
Just a thought- if the slurring returns would it be an idea to perhaps record it on your mobile phone so you can show your haematologist or gp ?
Hope your apt goes well and sending you positive good wishes
Love Dianne xxxx
Ps nice one with the furniture restoration- could do with you at our house ! I just got our old charm coffee table and sideboard/console table shabby chiqued - they look fab !
Good luck Jilly, I agree, record yourself on your phone, and have fun with your new sander. Maz x
Hi Jilly, that’s great news. Good advice from Maz andDianne. Take care and let us know how you get on. We could do with a photo of you and your sander - one for women’s lib. Kindest regards Aime xx😺😺
Hi Jilly , good news that you will be seen so quickly, not every clinic is so obliging. I'm sure they won't doubt your word about your slurred speech. It's usually guys that retreat to their mancave when faced with worry so you made me chuckle there esp when I got to the sander. But as you rightly say it will occupy your mind and hopefully refresh those table tops.
Good Luck, , , Chris
Good luck Jilly. Hope the appointment goes well x
Good Luck Jilly...you have had a lot to deal with maybe just a stress thing....hope it is a good result .Best to you Sally
All the Best for Monday, it is good that the Consultant is seeing you promptly.
Must say I agree with your hubby! I'm sure that many a fine romance has been triggered by the howl of a power tool and cloud of fine dust!
That sounds interesting.
At least you are been kept an eye on. Know what this feels like.
Recently had an acute episode of red hot abdominal pain and for 24hours did the emergency tour of my local x Ray and scan department Times two and I am now waiting for a further investigative procedure for??? hiatus hernia.
A visit not to be hopefully repeated BUT at least it was not clots or obstructions.
I also was a practice dummy for the phleabotomyist as my blood clotted.
I am hoping Norfolk in England will be sunny and a bit of r and r will bring me up to speed if only 4miles an hour in our boat.
Well, just got back from a very long afternoon at the hospital. My consultant is convinced I have been having TIA's. I always thought TIA's were bleeds on the brain but I learnt today that they are episodes where the blood flow is restricted for short periods. She said that, despite the blood thinners and chemo medication, people who suffer with PV are still more at risk of TIA episodes. She again told us that should it happen again we MUST go straight to hospital so any damage can be kept at a minimum. Obviously it is a weakness in the brain area affecting my speech. I don't know what the hospital would do and again my worry is that these episodes are getting more frequent and taking longer to resolve. I feel I got nowhere but understand that everything that can be done to stop these problems is being done. My PV is being perfectly controlled so what else can I do?
