Just thinking about ways to fight this condition (ET JAK neg) and wondered if anyone has tried alternative therapies and if so, what with and how successful ?
I’m approaching 60 with platelets around 800 so I know that HU is on the horizon and I’m scared... 😟
But it’s good to be on here.. Thank you guys.
Stay well!

Sorry JaynieQ, I don't have any advice regarding alternative therapies except to say that there are many posts on here discussing alternative therapies maybe check them out and I am sure others more informed than myself on the site will get back to you. Since joining here I realised the importance of drinking enough water whether or not I am on HU. Currently I am on 3×500mg per day no major issues..but when I don't drink enough I feel like lead!
Sorry I couldn't be of more help. But others here will be a great source of information and support, and all are wonderful human beings!
Hi. I have tried everything i can think of includimg 6 months of IV vit C therapy. I am well educated on natural remedies and am sorry to inform you that nithing worked for me personally. Eating right and exercise and hydration is my best advice at this point.
Thanks for your replies! I’ve been traveling through old posts and have found quite a lot of people swearing by turmeric. Will give that a try I think..
Am doing really well on Turmeric capsules and also vitamin C and D and lots of water and healthy diet and minimum of sugar, which seems rather important....very best wishes and do keep in touch with the Forum to let us know how you get on....Tinkerbell
Just wondering if you are taking aspirin 75 mg as well, as I understand both are not recommended. I am off hydroxycarb at the moment as I had a mouth reaction to it. And did hope to try curcumin but haven't because of the aspirin...
I am now no longer allowed aspirin, as had internal bleeding, attributed to it, a year ago, so just take the Turmeric....keep reading more and more about its 'virtues' and often just in the ordinary press, as well. Have to say, would always far prefer to take something 'natural', if possible. Best wishes to you and hope your mouth heals well....dentist recommends to me a warm salt water rinse, which really helps. Best wishes, Tinkerbell
